About Zoo & Aquarium Guide

Why we built it

Hundreds of zoos and aquariums are open across the country, but there is no single, structured place to browse them by state, see them on a map, or link straight through to an official website. Zoo & Aquarium Guide gathers them into one browsable guide.

Where our data comes from

Venue records are drawn from Wikidata, an openly licensed structured knowledge base maintained by a global community, released under the CC0 public-domain dedication. We structure and cross-reference that data, add maps, and keep entries updated as new information becomes available. Where a fact is uncertain or missing — admission, hours, AZA accreditation, or the animal roster — we say so rather than guess. See our methodology for the full detail.
